Heads up culinary enthusiasts: Australian guest Chef Andrew Mirosch is teaming up with Gansevoort Turks + Caicos Executive Chef Joel Vallar and the kitchen at Stelle to offer six exciting dining experiences over three weeks in April and May.

The restaurant’s Australian-Inspired Wine & Culinary Series kicks off Tuesday, April 24, with the first of three “Afternoon Canapés with Australian Wine Flights” events on the patio at Stelle ($75 plus tax and gratuity). The following night, the series continues with the first of its Seven Course Dégustation Dinners in the restaurant’s private dining room ($175 plus tax and gratuity).

In Weeks Two and Three, the series moves to the weekend, with the Dégustation Dinners on Saturdays (May 5 and 12) and Afternoon Canapés on Sundays (May 6 and 13). Canapé events begin at 6 p.m., and the dinners start with cocktails at 6:30.

Both the informal sunset socials and the more formal sit-down dinners will be hosted by Vallar and Mirosch, with assistance from a top American sommelier. Scott Lewis of the Court of Master Sommeliers in Napa Valley, will be serving and discussing wines at this week’s events (April 24 and April 25), while Gillian Ballance, a Master Sommelier from San Francisco, will co-host in May (May 5, 6, 12 and 13).

Whether you prefer the elegantly curated seven-course tasting menu or the artfully presented selection of canapés, the inspiration for the food in the series is a delightful collection of Australian specialty wines. All in all, it’s a great opportunity for enthusiasts to expand their palate while learning about the wines of an under-appreciated region.
