Gansevoort Turks + Caicos gave Stelle, its fine-dining restaurant, a well-received winter upgrade. Afterward, Exec. Chef Joel Vallar’s attention turned to the restaurant’s casual beachfront sister, Zest, and it looks like Provo’s in for a tasty summer.
Zest originally carved out its mark as a chic outdoor gathering spot, famed by guests and locals alike for sunset cocktails and late-night drinks around the fire pit. Appetizers and entries were quality, but stayed within familiar American territory.
Vallar’s new summer menu adds a palette of Caribbean tastes to the mix, delivering brightly flavored West Indies culture in everything from traditional curried goat to flame-grilled jerk mahi. There’s a conch chowder for starters, and the rest of the seafood-heavy menu reads like a yacht tour of the islands. Delicious.
